A guided forest trail walk and workshop: “Reviving native woodlands with sustainable methods”
Between November 26th and December 4th, National Tree Week officially opens the annual tree planting season. An event in which we will also participate. Planting trees has become a real trend, but unfortunately ecological knowledge is sometimes insufficient and the methods and materials used are often anything but environmentally-friendly. Regenerating a forest in a carbon-friendly way and with natural means is a challenge we have taken on in Rotcher Wood over several years. With success! For our fledgling woodland has taken root and many native plants and wildlife have moved back in. Still the young trees are quite fragile and need a lot of care and mindfulness. Nevertheless, we will open our gates for three days and guide visitors through our project on a lovingly designed information path. In a workshop we would like to raise awareness about our sustainable forest care, relying on recycling and natural ways, and perhaps inspire other green groups, associations and policy makers to try a new approach adapted to the times of climate change, which also hardly costs anything. We cordially invite you all to join us.
