We are passionate about making the River Holme a better place for people and wildlife. With the help of dedicated volunteers, we work to improve biodiversity, tackle invasive non-native species, clean up green spaces, educate people about the importance of river ecosystems and improve recreational opportunities for the whole community. We work with people and groups from across allsectors of society to help improve our local rivers and green spaces.
To promote the conservation, protection and improvement of the natural environment in the village of Honley and the surrounding area and, in particular, to hold and maintain the Magdale Fields, Honley in perpetuity.To provide facilities and activities for the recreation and leisure-time occupation for the inhabitants of Honley, regardless of age, sex or of political, religious or other opinions. To further such purposes by the provision of grants according to the charitable laws of England and Wales. The provision and maintenance of a village hall for the use of the inhabitants of Kirklees without distinction of political, religious or other opinions.
The Holme Valley Climate Action Partnership network supports local organisations in carrying out climate actions as part of the Holme Valley Parish Council's Climate Emergency Action Plan to become carbon neutral by 2030. This network has been set up by HoTT, the Parish Council and more than 30 other local organisations. An associated community business called ‘HVCAP’ has been founded; a not-for-profit charitable community business company, incorporated as a CIO, to facilitate local climate action, including fund raising, campaigns, and ‘demonstrator’ capital projects. Its aim is to raise awareness, enable participation, share good practice, and demonstrate what can be done through concerted
EcoHolmes CLT is a community-led housing organisation based in the Holme Valley, planning to provide affordable low-energy homes for local people in need – for rent and/or shared ownership - by acquiring land and holding it as a community asset in perpetuity. EcoHolmes also recognises that homes for the future in a climate changed world will need to be energy-efficient and sustainable, as well as affordable. Our mission is to provide Affordable Low-energy homes for those in housing need in our Holme Valley community.
The aims and objectives of Shepley Bird and Wildlife Group are to promote the interest and knowledge of birds and wildlife and the conservation of same, through illustrative talks and regular outdoor field visits.
The social aspect of both indoor and outdoor meetings provides regular social contact within the group and acts as an antidote to loneliness and isolation.
We represent all user groups and our aim is to ensure that the lane can be repaired/maintained so that it remains open long-term to all.

The Hade Edge Residents Association fundraises for the village with a Gala and other events/activities. We also look after the village planters and the Village "Green", on the triangle opposite the Bowshaw Pub in Hade Edge.
Our overall aim is to open up 2 areas within Honley Old Woods as bio diverse community areas, managing the ponds and surrounding land on an ongoing basis. Activities to support these objectives include pond clearance and pond life surveying, pathway clearance, removal of invasive and to share with the community what can be found on their doorstep.
Strengthen Meltham's reputation as a place for visitors to come to enjoy the outdoors, bring useful benefits to the local economy. Help to ensure that footpaths and facilities for walkers are maintained in good condition by working with relevant bodies, the Council and residents.Provide local community activities for families and local people.
