Each coordinator covers a specific area of Kirklees. They are here to support and advise groups and individuals who have an idea or interest in a local greenspace.

If you have any questions about who to talk to or how to connect to Kirklees then these are your first point of contact.

You can get in touch by e-mailing or phoning the relevant Volunteer Coordinator.

Community Hub Coordinator at Kirklees Council

Julie Turner, Julie.Turner@kirklees.gov.uk

The main aim of a Community Hub Coordinator is to help children to have the best start in life.  A Community Hub is a group of schools, and every school in Kirklees will have a Community Hub Coordinator allocated to them.  We help as a liaison between schools, who have the direct contact with families, and community based organisations; that is voluntary, charity, private or public organisations, and we work in a very ‘Place Based’ way, e.g. what is available in our local neighbourhoods?

For children to have the best start in life, there needs to be an holistic approach, so as well as supporting the schools, we also explore improving the environment the children grow up in, and we do a lot of work to help support parents, so that parents are in the best place they can be to look after their children.  Examples of the work we do include: collating and organising information, sharing local news, organising local events, supporting the creation of new groups, bringing services to families, coordinating multi-agency meetings, and more.
