We improve access to the Colne riverside by creating and maintaining footpaths, cycle routes and green spaces. We improve habitats so that people and wildlife can thrive, and enhance sites with seating and signage and regular litter picks.
To encourage the creation of new woodland through the planting of trees in the Colne Valley area (defined as an area to the west of Huddersfield and lying between the County Boundary at Standedge and the railway viaduct at Longroyd Bridge).
A group which aims to preserve, conserve, promote and protect any building or land of important historic or architectural interest in the area and to preserve and promote the heritage and environment of Wellhouse. Aiming to promote community togetherness whilst improving and maintaining the conservation area, supporting to promote mental health through outdoor work.

To Conserve, Maintain and Enhance the amenities of the park for the benefit of the Colne Valley community. To promote the use of the the park for quiet relaxation and recreation for individuals and groups of all ages and abilities including the disabled. To promote the use of the park for public events organised by charitable and other groups for the entertainment and benefit of the local community and visitors.
Keeping the profile of our small park in the public eye. In conjunction with Kirklees making it an inviting and useable space for everyone.
To develop Marsden as a "Walkers are Welcome" town, and to encourage recreational walking in the Marsden area, for the public benefit of local people and visitors. To be responsible for ensuring that Marsden continues to meet the criteria established nationally for "Walkers are Welcome" status. To work to improve facilities for walkers, including maintenance and improvement of existing footpaths and bridleways, and the creation of new routes. To promote an annual walking calendar/festival. To act in partnership with the community, business, relevant groups, and local authorities to achieve these aims.
To encourage walking in the Colne Valley
The group undertakes works to improve the environment and amenity value of Milnsbridge e.g. making a riverside walk; advances the appreciation of Milnsbridge by the public as a desirable area in which to live and work; and campaigns for resources to be spent in Milnsbridge by public and private bodies e.g. securing funding for a climbing boulder. We involve people in practical activities to improve the local environment e.g. litter picking, working with the local school on an art project; promote meetings, publications, exhibitions and research, and co-operate with other groups, both locally and nationally.
