Almondbury Bank Woodland Preservation Group
We maintain under Kirklees Licence the afore mentioned woodland area. Maintain pathways and steps. Litter pick along the roadside wooded areas, and in general leave the woodland tidy and a natural pleasure to walk through with or without a dog.
Little Gomersal Community Association
The Association was formed by a group of people from within the village who had the idea of organising a village fayre to bring the community together. There has been a fayre every year, upt o Covid and it resumed in 2022. As well as bringing the community together for a social event, any funds raised are used primarily to pay for a Christmas tree which every year is bought from Kirklees council and placed in the center of the village for all to enjoy.
Denby Village Conservation Group
The Group was formed in May 2015 and is open to all residents of Upper and Lower Denby with the aims of: Helping to make Denby Village a vibrant, safe, pleasant and enjoyable environment for residents and visitors. Promoting activities which will make Denby Village a better place to live, work and visit. Developing ideas and events aimed at enhancing the environment of the Village for the benefit of all. Co-operating with public and private bodies, charitable organisations, youth and other community groups to develop economic, social, safety and environmental projects within the area
Mirfield in Bloom
Mirfield in Bloom is a community group dedicated to making Mirfield a nice place to live by involving as many people as possible. It isn’t just about flowers. It is pulling the community together to make our townsfolk love where they live. They’ve greened grey spaces, made neighbours into friends and encouraged communities from small children to senior citizens to work with each other. Graffiti & litter problems have been addressed; and the town has looked lovely. The object of the exercise was achieved when Mirfield in Bloom was given the honour of a Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service
Growing Newsome
We’re a thriving community of food growers in Huddersfield. Growing Newsome helps people to grow and share their own food. We create opportunities for people to get together, so that we can share our plants, seeds, locally produced food, experiences, skills, and ideas for the future. We help people to grow their confidence with food growing and help to improve our local environment for people and wildlife.
Lepton Village Preservation Society
To improve Lepton for its residents, both visually and atmospherically.
Ravensthorpe Residents Action Group
To enhance the green spaces where we work, by improving the biodiversity and appearance of the sites. Encouraging local residents to use and enjoy the areas around them. Work with other community groups and organisations.
Emley & Emley Moor Community Group
We are a residents community group with aims to improve the social and environmental aspects of our rural village area.
Keep Hecky Tidy
We are a group of volunteers who are aiming to improve the environment in and around Heckmondwike. We encourage residents to take pride in the town and where they live.
