EcoHolmes CLT is a community-led housing organisation based in the Holme Valley, planning to provide affordable low-energy homes for local people in need – for rent and/or shared ownership - by acquiring land and holding it as a community asset in perpetuity. EcoHolmes also recognises that homes for the future in a climate changed world will need to be energy-efficient and sustainable, as well as affordable. Our mission is to provide Affordable Low-energy homes for those in housing need in our Holme Valley community.

Don, Dearne & Rother Network, The
We are a network of organisations working in the Don Catchment, and we believe in the CATCHMENT BASED APPROACH. The Network is a ‘catchment partnership’ and is hosted by Don Catchment Rivers Trust.
Don Catchment Rivers Trust
Don Catchment Rivers Trust has been established to help protect and restore the rivers in the River Don catchment area, this includes not just the River Don but also the River Dearne, River Rother and other rivers such as the Sheaf, Went, Ea Beck and many others. Our rivers are a valuable asset which tell the story of our culture and heritage. They are important for people, wildlife and the local economy, and form an integral part of our landscape. Our mission is to: conserve, protect, rehabilitate and improve the Rivers Don, Dearne and Rother and the associated non-tidal and tidal systems that might influence their fauna, flora, water quality and hydrology.
Emley First School PTA
Emley First School PTA is a group of parents, grandparents, care givers and teachers who try to improve life for the pupils at Emley First School by raising money for new equipment and trips alongside community events.
DIGS Accommodation Storthes Hall Park
We are the DIGS Accommodation site based in Kirkburton, Storthes Hall Park. Our students are extremely eco conscious and keen to do litter picks to help our local community as well as benefit from getting out and about improving their health and wellbeing.
Denby Dale Parish Countryside Project
Denby Dale Parish Countryside Project covers an area of approximately 50 square kilometres in the South East of Kirklees District. The project has the aims of conserving, enhancing and promoting environmental quality, recreational opportunity and ecological sustainability throughout Denby Dale Parish.
Colne Valley Tree Society
To encourage the creation of new woodland through the planting of trees in the Colne Valley area (defined as an area to the west of Huddersfield and lying between the County Boundary at Standedge and the railway viaduct at Longroyd Bridge).
Church Woods, Birstall
Church Woods is classified as an ancient woodland. The Church Woods Committee of St Peter’s Church is responsible for caring for the woodland and preserving it for future generations. With support from the Woodland Trust we work to care for and restore the woodland. We also seek to engage the local community in that work as we believe that this improves wellbeing as well as protecting the woodland. A longer term aim of the committee is to use the woodland for educational purposes, offering it for schools and groups to use as well as running events of our own
Cumberworth Community Association
The CCA is a community association and charity, which is organised by a group of local residents with the aim of organising fund raising events for the local community. The association represents the views of residents, improve and develop services to the community and environment.
Shepley Bird and Wildlife Group
The aims and objectives of Shepley Bird and Wildlife Group are to promote the interest and knowledge of birds and wildlife and the conservation of same, through illustrative talks and regular outdoor field visits.
The social aspect of both indoor and outdoor meetings provides regular social contact within the group and acts as an antidote to loneliness and isolation.
