Advice from KnowHow Nonprofit – NB their second point “Give the funder what they want” is the most fundamental tip.  Many applications fail to answer the questions asked and fail to tailor their project to what the funding is supposed to be for.  Your project needs to fit the criteria and if it doesn’t then there is rarely any point in applying.
