Skipton Building Society Community Giving Scheme

We are pleased to announce that, as a result of the public vote, Natural Kirkless has been awarded £600 after the Huddersfield Branch of the Skipton Building Society kindly entered it as one of three chosen charities in their Community Giving Scheme. This prize is to be awarded as a one off grant offering to our full member groups.

So – we are offering this sum – £600 – as a single payment to one winning group who submit a simple application. To be entered in the scheme, you can fill in the form below:

The full event details and conditions can be found in the following file or below:

  1. You must use this award and complete the project by the end of June 2025.
  2. It must be a specific fully funded standalone project, fully funded by this donation.
  3. It must be used as a tangible purchase(s) not for labour or other services.
  4. The funding is provided only for items not already purchased or committed to.
  5. The work must be undertaken with Kirklees Council or the land-owner’s permission.
  6. The group agree to acknowledge, in any publicity, both the Skipton Building Society and Natural Kirklees for the funding of the project.
  7. The group will provide a short report on the impact of the project and photographs to Natural Kirklees who will forward them on to the Skipton Building Society. Please ensure and confirm that any individuals shown in the photographs have given their permission for their publication by Skipton Building Society and Natural Kirklees.
  8. The group must allow the trustees of Natural Kirklees to confirm the work is being undertaken and has been completed if requested to do so by Natural Kirklees.
  9. All legal aspects and permissions are obtained before work commences and adhered to throughout the project.
  10. The member must have public liability insurance to cover the work to be undertaken.
  11. The funds will be transferred to the member’s bank account within two-weeks following the award. (Natural Kirklees will contact the winners after the scheme closes to identify these details)
  12. Natural Kirklees Trustees’ decision is final in all aspects of this scheme.
  13. The member agrees that any unspent amount, or the total grant if the project fails to go ahead, will be returned to Natural Kirklees.
  14. Applications close on 31st January 2025 but may not be acknowledged until third week of February. The winner will be announced either at the March Quarterly Meeting or before if appropriate.

Judging Criteria

The winner will be – in the opinion of the judges and in line with Natural Kirklees objectives – the project that best meets the benefit of “Encouraging more visitors into the green space that the volunteer group undertake their activities”.
